Georgia Lemon Law
The Georgia Lemon Law was enacted to protect consumers who purchase or lease a new vehicle for personal use. It also protects business owners who purchase or lease ten or fewer cars per year. Its purpose is to require manufacturers of automobiles to either correct any defects their cars may have, or replace or repurchase defective automobiles.
A lemon in Georgia is a car that has been in for the same repair three or more times or has been in the shop for a repair for 30 days or more. Your car may also be considered a lemon if it has been in the shop any amount of time for a serious safety defect.
In some cases, manufacturers must repurchase your automobile and refund any money you have paid towards interest or lease payments for your car.
